I was walking on our mountain road in Alaska early one fall morning, enjoying the brisk air and gorgeous light from the sunrise. Suddenly I heard a twig crack. I looked to the side and my heart nearly stopped—a large bull moose stood barely 30-feet away. I froze. He looked...bored. I talked quietly, "Nice moose...hi, moose...I'm just a human not paying proper attention..."

I slowly back away, and to my relief, the moose went back to munching his breakfast.

This oil painting was made from that memory, the morning I disturbed a moose at his breakfast. He was a gorgeous moose, and luckily for me, I didn't look like a gorgeous female great for a family room, dining room. Ships from Anchorage, Alaska.
